    Overview:
    This four-day course split over two sessions has been specifically designed for
    dentists wishing to start their journey in dental implantology.
    Session one will empower you to restore single unit and short span bridge implant
    supported prosthesis. Understanding the prosthetic aspect of dental
    implantology prepares the clinician to become a prosthetically driven
    implant surgeon.
    Session two focuses on the surgical aspects of basic single unit implant
    placements. The attendees will be supported post course
    to build confidence in tackling their first cases in a
    safe manner. Attendees may treat their own
    patients at the academy under clinical supervision.
    The course is a combination of theory, hands on
    workshops on manikins and animal models, live
    patient demonstrations and online tutorials.

    4. Implant designs and their connections
    5. The difference between dental implants and natural teeth
    6. Impression taking using open and closed tray systems and digital scan bodies
    7. Patient and Site assessment for implant planning
    8. Hands on implant impression taking workshop

    Day 2 – 18th February 2023

    1. Prosthetically driven treatment planning
    2. Lab communicating and designing implant prosthesis
    3. Screw versus cement retained restorations
    4. Processes for insertion of implant prosthesis
    5. Maintenance of implant prosthesis
    6. Trouble shooting common prosthetic complications
    7. Atraumatic tooth extraction techniques
    8. Basic socket preservation – why, when and how
