Overview:
The follow up to the popular lecture “An Update On Periodontal Management” comes the hands on workshop demonstrating the essential armamentarium and techniques for non surgical periodontal management.
The evening will include theory on manual and powered periodontal instrumentation. The hands on workshop will focus on the use of the following hand instruments:
– Standard, mini and micro curettes
– Hoes and files
– Advanced hand instrumentation techniques

Learning outcomes:

• Understand the armamentarium required to manage periodontal disease non surgically
• Differentiate the different modes of action of power instruments
• Appreciate the differences between standard, mini and micro curettes for debridement
• Demonstrate the ability to use hoes and periodontal files for difficult to access sites
