Overview:
Periodontal regenerative therapies have over 30 years of proven research demonstrating repeatable and sustainable treatment outcomes. Infrabony pockets which do not respond to non-surgical management have simple surgical solutions allowing regain of the lost attachment. In fact, regenerative periodontal therapies is the only treatment which can decrease a patient’s periodontal staging. This course has been specifically designed for the general dental practitioners who would like to provide regenerative periodontal therapies which are reproducible with high success rates. Procedures including the different generations of papilla preservation, minimally invasive surgical therapies (MIST) and their modern iterations such as Entire Papilla Preservation will be covered in detail. The evidence base for biomaterial selection will be heavily scrutinised.
An introduction to modern concepts in autotransplantation will be covered demonstrating simple and effective techniques for cases involving completed and incomplete root apex. For many patients, dental implants are not a viable solution such as in growing children. Autotransplantation of an individuals tooth may often be the most effective and economic treatment option with minimal to no long term maintenance costs. Dr Sheng has been personally trained by the world leader in autotransplantation Dr Mitsuhiro Tsukiboshi (Nagoya, Japan) and will share with you his protocols for successful management.
