Overview:
This four-day course is designed for those who have experience in surgical implant placement and would like to expand their knowledge and skills to allow for the management of more complex cases requiring guided bone regeneration. The seminar is a combination of lectures, hands-on workshops and live surgeries. Each day will be broken into two sessions in the format of lecture, live surgery or workshop and post-surgical/exercise evaluation so that the learning is engrained into clinical application. Special guest lecturers will give expert opinions on the current state of GBR.
The course will go into depth on advanced socket preservation and augmentation techniques to allow for future site development to simplify the implant journey. Horizontal and vertical ridge augmentations will be covered in-depth with proven evidence-based strategies. The importance of soft tissue will be emphasised as implantology shifts to a focus on mucointegration. Students will be supported post-course with monthly tutorials and case reviews to ensure you can apply the knowledge from the course safely into your practice.

Principles of guided bone regeneration
Summary of biomaterials
Extraction Socket preservation vs Socket Preservation
Socket Augmentation vs Ridge Augmentation
Techniques covered include: Ice-cream cone, reconstruction of buccal/lingual plates, Jensen/Block sinus development
Workshop: Master suturing, Sticky Bone
Live surgeries on above techniques

Day 2 – Thursday 4th August 2022
Site assessment and decision making
Horizontal ridge development in preparation for implants
Techniques covered include: Sausage grafts, buccal block grafts
Workshop: Membranes, tacks, and bone screws
Live surgeries: Sausage technique

Day 3 – Friday 5th August 2022
Simultaneous horizontal GBR with implant placement
Management of aesthetic cases using composite grafting
Techniques covered include: Osseodensification, vascularised/non-vascularised ridge splits, Buser technique, PDS 2.0
Workshop: Ridge splits
Live surgeries: Composite grafting of aesthetic implant case and Ridge Split

Day 4 – Saturday 6th August 2022
Vertical-guided bone regeneration techniques
Modern sinus elevation 101
Vertical ridge GBR the final frontier
Techniques covered: Implant tenting augmentation, Urban technique, Split Bone Block
Workshop: Sinus hands on workshop
Live surgery: Transalveolar sinus lift (Osteotome + Densah), Split bone block
