Foundations in Dental Implant Surgery and Prosthetics
This 6-day course split over two sessions has been specifically designed for dentists wishing to start their journey in dental implantology or those who have started placing and restoring dental implants but wishing to develop a deeper understanding to improve their case outcomes.
Session One will empower you to restore single unit and short span bridge implant supported prosthesis. Understanding the prosthetic aspect of dental implantology prepares the clinician to become a prosthetically driven implant surgeon. The course will cover digital implant planning including in-house surgical guide fabrication with 3D printing. Basic socket preservation will be taught to allow dentists to prepare their cases ready to proceed with implant surgery following Session Two. During this session, each dentist will plan their surgical guides, which will be printed ready to go for Session Two surgical training.
Session Two focuses on the surgical aspects of single unit implant placements with a focus on ‘Brain Guided’ implant surgery, however the use of surgical guides will be extensively covered. A whole day is dedicated to hands-on training, placing dental implants into surgical models and developing soft tissue management skills to provide the best long-term outcomes for their patient.
The attendees will be supported post course to build confidence in tackling their first cases in a safe manner. Attendees may treat their own patients at the academy under clinical supervision or be provided patients by the academy to treat in live patient externships*.
Each dentist is welcome to bring their assistant along for additional complimentary training during the procedure from our expert surgical assistants. Graduates of the program are eligible to apply to attend LIVE surgical training in Southeast Asia for an INTENSIVE WEEK of clinical training^.
*Dentists must attend dedicated Live Patient Externships weeks for clinical training. Dentists may elect to complete Live Patient Externships for both surgical and prosthetics phases of implant treatment. The cost per day of clinical training for a single operator is $8,000 and includes 4 surgical implant placements. Dentists can elect to form pairs and provide 2 surgeries and assist 2 surgeries for a cost of $4,000. Extensive case workups will be provided prior to the live surgery and dentists have the option to prepare a surgical guide for use if required. The cases will be documented throughout the treatment phases for detailed case analysis.
^Live patient Intensive Week will be completed in Vietnam. Attendance is conditional on dentists passing a written examination post course and demonstrating an understanding of base surgical principals during the hands-on course. Dentists will also need to meet the minimum required from the Vietnam Ministry of Health to obtain a Provisional Dental Licensure to treat patients in a Dental Hospital under supervision. Cost of the Live Patient Intensive Week is to be advised in due course.
